Thoughts for July 2016

What have you been thinking about lately? Have you found yourself to be worried, anxious, and fretful? Or have you been hopeful, peaceful, and thankful? One of the letters of the Apostle Paul to the Philippians in the Scripture reminds us to think about things that are worth spending our energy and time as we think about them. Here is the New Revised Standard Version:

“Finally, beloved, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is pleasing, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things” [Phil 4:8].

In the month of July, let us accept the challenge to think on healthy and helpful things, hopeful things, and let us choose to find excellence and commendable things. When we change the way we think it will change the way we act.

Blessings,
Chaplain Nancy
